Get ready for World Fiddle Day 2017!

WORLD FIDDLE DAY TORONTO 2017 promises to be another spectacular event taking place on Saturday, May 20th at the prestigious Aga Khan Museum. Join scores of fiddlers playing tunes from all over the world, accompanied by a stellar back-up band consisting of world percussion, clarinet, and keys, all celebrating world music. Fiddlers and players of bowed instruments of all ages and stages are welcome to join the jam, find out more.

Special guest artists DnA (Diana and Andrew Dawydchak – Ontario Fiddle/stepdance), Kousha Nakhaei (Persian fiddle), Pascal Gemme/Yann Falquet (Quebec fiddle/guitar), Amely Zhou (Chinese erhu), Anne Lindsay (jazz, original music) will lead the morning workshops, then perform at an evening concert in the acoustically superb Aga Khan Auditorium.

PLAYERS/SUPPORTERS: We encourage you all to consider taking out a membership to World Fiddle Day Toronto, whether or not you play a bowed instrument. Membership supports the artistic activities of the day, our Community workshops (open to all) and our Outreach programs to schools to encourage them to go beyond the musical boundaries of their curriculum. Click HERE for Membership info

World Fiddle Day Toronto 2017 Events:

Workshops for Fiddlers

10:00 – 1:00 – two 90 minute workshop slots with our guest artists for players
Pre-registration required, members can register now, open to all May 5th.

2 – 5 pm: “Around-the-World” Fiddle Jam w/ House Band & welcome fiddlers 
We encourage players of bowed instruments to become members of World Fiddle Day Toronto to enjoy the 2017 Tunebook & CD, admission to the entire World Fiddle Day Toronto event at the Aga Khan, including morning workshops and evening concert. Become a Member
Audience: FREE

5:30 – 6:30:  Listen to the Youth Showcase – young professional-track students who will treat us to their creativity. Buffet Supper will be served to those that pre-rigistered.

7 – 10 pm: Evening Concert with Guest Artists in the Aga Khan Museum (Auditorium)
